Blame male editors for absence of woman Sports Journalists – Nana Aba Anamoah

In accordance to the professional broadcaster, derogatory remarks passed by some male editors about interactions between male sporting activities stars and woman sports activities journalists leaves a great deal to be sought after.

Speaking at the maiden version of the Africa Women’s Athletics Summit held at the Swiss Spirit Alisa Lodge in Accra on Wednesday, Nana Aba Anamoah stated that, ‘’most of the situations, when feminine journalists go and conduct an interview with some sporting activities stars, soon after the news is out the initial comment that comes out is that I’m guaranteed ‘it went down’ right after the interview or in advance of the interview’’ she explained.

The celebrated Tv set persona questioned why that must always happen to the feminine journalist and why identical points are not reported about male sporting activities journalists. Nana Aba who mentioned she faced very similar challenges at the start of her vocation, urged the females to drive hard and choose their location in the athletics fraternity and not let any individual or nearly anything be a hindrance to them. ’

’As females, you need to have not to just consider it on the chain, you want to stand up for your self and enable individuals know that they have to be specialist in what ever they do.’’ She additional.

Her remark drew wild applause from the audience.

The Africa Women’s Sports activities Summit is an initiative of a person of Africa’s influential sports journalists, Juliet Bawuah and is aimed at empowering young and aspiring female athletics journalists to feel in by themselves and their qualities.

Other distinguished journalists who addressed the around 60 members at the function venue had been, SuperSport and Premier League Television host Carol Tshabalala, Ugandan Sporting activities Journalist, Usher Komugisha, Sports Journalist and authorized practitioner, Eva Okyere, and previous C.O.
