Ghana Football Affiliation Exclusive Opposition committee member Augustine Arhinful has reported that he has alerted the Chairman of the competitiveness Samuel Osei Kuffuor about the bribery allegations leveled towards some officers of Asante Kotoko.
In accordance to him, the Normalisation Committee will summon all parties included in this bribery allegations for interrogation.
Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko have been embroiled in a bribery scandal, amid claims the club attempted to bribe a referee in the course of their Unique Opposition match versus Ashantigold at the weekend.
Retired referee Robert Tawiah Mensah is alleging just one Kofi Oduro, who claims to have close ties with Kotoko chairman Dr Kwame Kyei is demanding a refund of a meant GH 8,000 he compensated to the match officers.
“I have alerted Samuel Osei Kuffour who is our chairman (of the Normalization Committee Organizing Committee) to inform Dr. Kofi Amoah (President of the NC) to invite all the people today concerned in alleged bribery allegations pertaining to the Ashgold vs Kotoko match for interrogation”, he explained to Fox FM.
In the meantime, Asante Kotoko has denied attempting to impact referees in the ongoing Particular Opposition.
In a push assertion, the club has distanced by itself from the alleged act.
“The Govt Chairman and Administration wish to state unequivocally that neither the Executive Chairman nor any official of the club has engaged in this kind of act and neither has the explained Sheshela been contracted to interact in the act for and on behalf of the club.
“The Government Chairman and Management and Asante Kotoko Sporting Club have received with shock and dismay information circulating in the news circles of an alleged bribery scandal involving a person Sheshela and staying linked to the club,” it mentioned.
