The Minister for Tourism and Artistic Arts, Mrs. Barbara Oteng Gyasi has condemned the brawl between Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy at the 20th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
Blaming her outfit and the organisers of the VGMA, Charter Home, for the chaos at the ceremony, the Tourism and Artistic Arts Minister, stated they failed to avoid it.
She claimed the brawl could have been prevented experienced her Ministry and the organisers of the celebration seemed at protection at the party severely.
The camp of Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale clashed on stage when Stonebwoy was introduced as the winner for the Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Calendar year classification.
In the midst of the tension, Stonebwoy pulled out a gun an motion he has discussed in a push statement as self-defence.
In a radio interview on Accra based Starr FM on Monday, Mrs Oteng Gyasi stated “There was a minimal failure on our section as the Ministry and the organisers. Prior to the function, we found some banter amongst the enthusiasts of the musicians on social media. It would have been better if they [Charterhouse] engaged them.”
“Going ahead, it is vital steps are set in place to make sure the protection of all audiences and contributors,” she included.
The Minister who stated she was harm and humiliated by the brawl, urged admirers from the camps of the two artistes to “ceasefire.”
“Let’s all remain relaxed and regulate the destruction so no a single is hurt,” she admonished.
