Ghana’s 2nd wintertime Olympian and skeleton athlete, Akwasi Frimpong states he is planning for the next winter season Olympic in China in 2022.

According to the 33-yr-previous sprinter, bobsledder, and skeleton athlete, he is poised in his zeal to make the sport a massive business enterprise in Ghana and train young skills in the recreation.

“My eyesight is to educate additional Ghanaian athletes to know the sports and mature them to grow to be foreseeable future Olympic medal hopefuls,” he said on Wednesday when he was introduced with the SWAG Special Award at the Accra Sports Stadium. The athlete was not present to personally get his awards at the 44th MTN SWAG Awards gala held in Accra on Might 11.

A SWAG agent, Sammy Heywood Okine who offered the memento to the skeleton athlete, extolled his feat as deserving of celebrating by the country.

Frimpong, who was joined by his spouse, Erica Frimpong, to collect the award, thanked SWAG for the honour done him and pledged to are living by the spirit of the ward which is to make Ghana happy in any global winter season function.

“I am quite happy of this honour, my family members is pretty very pleased and my wife is so far too, I would by no means let this nation down and would do my incredibly best to alway convey honour to this country,” he stated.

Presently ranked 67th in the environment, Frimpong hopes to be amid the top 10 in 3 years time.
