The first batch of the Black Stars squad have arrived at the team’s foundation in Abu Dhabi as they start out the closing section of preparations for the 2019 African Cup of Nations tournament which will be held in Egypt from June 21-July 19.
A contingent led by the Acting GFA Typical Secretary Mr. Alex Asante which included some players and members of the Technical staff arrived in Abu Dhabi on Sunday morning.
The rest of the squad are anticipated to arrive in the team’s camp on Monday morning as Mentor Kwesi Appiah and his facet prepare for the Africa continent’s flagship football competition.
The crew will be in UAE for three months prior to departing to Egypt for the event.
The senior national group will perform two friendly matches in Dubai concerning June 10-15 with South Africa as 1 of Ghana’s opponents in the Pre-event welcoming matches.
Crew Ghana is expected to get there in Egypt for the match on June 20, five days ahead of their opening Group F match towards the Squirrels of Benin at the Ismailia Stadium.
The Black Stars will participate in reigning African Champions Cameroon in their 2nd team match in Ismailia before they encounter Guinea Bissau in the ultimate group match at the Suez Stadium.
Ghana is poised to conclude its 37 12 months African trophy drought and earn its 5th continental title at this year’s version of the competitiveness.
