The Ghana FA Normalisation Committee have dismissed Asante Kotoko’s petition of a two-legged tie for their Special Cup tier 1 semi-closing clash against Hearts of Oak.
The NC, in a assertion, insists the match will be a 1-off and will choose area at the Accra Sporting activities Stadium, the house of Hearts of Oak.
Kotoko preferred a two-legged tie with reference on the competition’s previous regulation, introduced on 7 February 2019. Posting 11(5) states that the four teams (that qualify from the group) shall engage in double-legged semi-finals and two winners shall qualify for the finals.
Kotoko also proposed a neutral grounds for the match so the two teams can share the gate proceeds.
The NC’s dismissal is on the grounds of the new regulations produced on 22 March 2019. In accordance to write-up 12(5), the semi-last matches will be just one-off with the staff that finishes best of its group participating in at residence.
Kotoko, on Monday, explained they experienced not been furnished with the new format.
But NC suggests “it communicated the revised competitiveness specifics to Kotoko.”
