Federal government has allocated GH¢197 million for the manage of perennial flooding in Accra, Deputy Minister of Info has unveiled.
Mr Pius Enam Hadzide reported the funds is allotted to the Ministry of Works and Housing, which is liable for flood management, to undertake many tasks and will work to reduce the incidence of flooding in Accra.
He spoke with Kwame Tutu on Kingdom FM 107.7 Anopa Nkomo on Tuesday.
The Deputy Data Minister described that as part of initiatives to incorporate flooding, there would be dredging and de-silting of key drains in the capital town.
On top of that, there would be the construction of more drains to permit the free circulation of water when it rains to lower the perennial flooding in Accra, he reported.
According to him, these are steps becoming set in position to assure that superior sanitation is managed declaring it will also safeguard life and assets.
