The President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Ahmad Ahmad, was arrested on Thursday early morning in a Paris lodge by French police.
According to French tabloid Jeune Afrique, Ahmad’s arrest is connected to the agreement unilaterally damaged by CAF with the German products producer Puma to interact with the company Complex Steel, primarily based in La Seyne-sur-Mer.
The signing of a contract which, according to the former secretary common of CAF Amr Fahmy, was favored by the proximity concerning Ahmad Ahmad and just one of the leaders of the French business, whose further price tag would arrive at 830 000 dollars.
The allegations versus Ahmad follow a string of scandals associated to FIFA’s practices in Latin America and Asia in latest yrs, which have led to the indictment and jailing of various senior soccer directors.
Ahmad has regularly denied any wrong undertaking and managed his innocence.
He was picked up soon after attending the FIFA Congress, which resulted in the re-election of President Gianni Infantino.
