Ghana legend Tony Yeboah is of the view that the captaincy of the Black Stars have to be subjected to voting to steer clear of controversy ill-emotion amid the gamers.
Pursuing the current controversy on the Black Stars captaincy, foremost to the worldwide retirement of Asamoah Gyan, only for him to rescind his conclusion after the presidential interference, Yeboah thinks the strategy of appointing captains have to transform.
The previous Frankfurt and Leeds United striker recounted his individual working experience with the captaincy row which thwarted the work of the Black Stars from winning the 1992 AFCON.
Yeboah argues that providing whole authority to the coach to choose who captains the workforce normally produces sick thoughts amid some of the players.
He thinks by voting, the gamers will decide on who to captain them and that will decrease the controversy that ordinarily erupts about the captaincy.
“In my feeling, the captaincy of the Black Stars must be voted for by the players. The coach need to pick 3 or 4 gamers for them be voted for.
“This will mitigate the complications associated with the captaincy of the Black Stars,” he advised Atinka FM.
