Previous Black Stars assistant head coach, Maxwell Konadu, has included his voice to the new saga of the team’s management in the 2019 AFCON and thinks that the situation was not properly dealt with.
Gyan, Ghana’s all-time leading scorer, experienced briefly retired from the nationwide team right after he was informed that he would no more time be captain of the team. His position was altered to that of normal captain by head coach Kwesi Appiah.
Even so, immediately after an intervention from the President, Nana Akufo Addo, the veteran ahead rescinded his final decision.
Konadu thinks that a superior solution to the condition would have been wiser way of working with these a fragile subject.
“I assume we could have managed it significantly far better than it went. Originally there is this issue close to Black Stars – scandals listed here and there – prior to each individual event.
So, we considered this one was going to be a sleek just one and however that incident kicked in.”
Konadu, a previous Asante Kotoko ahead, stated that even even though the challenge was a distraction to the team’s preparations, he believed all was not shed and went on to alert the Black Stars not to reduce their interesting and to emphasis on the undertaking at hand.

The Black Stars have been drawn in team F at the upcoming African Cup of Nations and will start out their campaign towards fellow West African side, Benin, on the 25th of June in Ismaily prior to facing Cameroon and Guinea-Bissau in their closing Team F fixtures.
