22 12 months-outdated, Osman Amadu admitted that he sprayed material in the eyes of the policewoman on April 10, 2020
A 22-calendar year-outdated man, Osman Amadu, is in the grips of the Kaneshie Law enforcement in Accra, for spraying a material into the eyes of a police woman at Zongo junction in the course of enforcement of restriction responsibilities.
According to the police, on April, 10 all around 9:00 am, the police woman was on a Covid-19 responsibility at the Zongo junction making sure compliance of directives.
In the study course of the responsibility, a taxi taxi was stopped with the suspect on board. He was questioned about his motion but became furious and with out any provocation, sprayed a liquid compound which was in a smaller plastic bottle, into the eyes of the policewoman.
Complainant shouted for aid and her colleagues, together with other witnesses, came to her help. The suspect was promptly arrested and despatched jointly with the liquid material to the Kaneshie Law enforcement Station for investigations.
He admitted the offence and claimed he did not know what came over him.
He is being processed for courtroom on the counts of assault on a community officer and violation of the Restriction of Imposition Act, as the material is staying forwarded to the forensic laboratory for evaluation.
The policewoman has subsequently been sent to an eye specialist for even more treatment.
