Betway donates GH¢150,000 to support Covid-19 combat


Electrical power Minister, John Peter Amewu, acquired the cheque on behalf of the federal government.

Top on-line sports betting provider, Betway, has offered a cheque for GH¢150,000 to the government’s Covid-19 Have confidence in Fund, to aid lessen the influence of the spread of the virus in Ghana.

Betway, which operates in Ghana as Sports Betting Group Ghana Confined, donated the sum when its Director and Board Secretary, Dr. Kweku Ainuson  led a staff from the organisation to the  Information Ministry on Thursday, April 16, 2020.

Energy Minister, John Peter Amewu, received the cheque on behalf of the govt in the presence of Magnus Rex Danquah Jnr, Betway’s Region Manager in Cost of Operations and Kwabena Oppong-Nkrumah who is also State Supervisor in Cost of Advertising.

Talking to the media after the presentation, Dr Kweku Ainuson, said, “As the region carries on to be in lockdown, we are all going through the entire affect of the Covid-19 pandemic. We are committing GH¢150,000 to support fight Covid-19 as well as its related difficulties.

“The cash will help government’s foodstuff relief attempts and other supplies that might be essential to eradicate the virus,” he added.

Betway, in its bid to supply for people in the local communities, has also designed a donation to a local charity to deliver foodstuff and drinking water to communities across the nation.
