Scrap supplier remanded about allegedly spraying substance into Police woman’s eyes

Osman Amadu, a 22- year previous scrap supplier, who allegedly sprayed some liquid material into the eyes of a duty policewoman implementing the limits on movement get, has been remanded by an Accra Circuit Courtroom.

Amadu, billed with producing hurt and failing to comply with the restrictions imposed by the President, has, even so, pleaded not responsible.

The Presiding judge, Mrs Afia Owusu Appiah, declined to grant bail to Amadu, indicating the  defence counsel experienced been not able to encourage her that Amadu would not leap bail.

Also, the Courtroom explained that the demand of failing to comply with the restrictions imposed by the President, carried severe punishment or sentence.

Amadu is, for that reason, anticipated to reappear on April 29.

It also directed the Registrar of the Courtroom to consider possession of the substance and require the defence counsel and prosecution in presenting it to the forensic laboratory till the effects are produced.

Prosecuting, Main Inspector Gulliver Tenkorang informed the Court docket that Lance Corporal Bernice Osei Wusu, stationed at Kaneshie Divisional Headquarters, was the complainant.

Amadu was also a resident of Russia, Accra.

The Prosecution claimed on April 10, this calendar year, at about 0900 several hours, the complainant was on a  COVID Security responsibility snap check at the Zongo Junction, close to the Excellent Lamptey Mills Faculty.

He claimed, Amadu, who arrived at the issue  as a passenger of  a taxi taxi, grew to become offended when Lance Corporal Osei Wusu questioned the place he was headed for.

The prosecution claimed the complainant shouted for aid so her colleague and other witnesses went to her assist.

Amadu was right away arrested and introduced jointly with the substance to the Kaneshie Law enforcement Station for investigations.

In accordance to the professional medical report, the Prosecution claimed, she sustained critical accidents in equally of her eyes.

The Prosecution claimed Amadu admitted the offence and investigations exposed that he was galavanting in breach of the directives by the President.
