Ghana Association of Bankers presents ¢2m to Covid-19 Infectious Sickness and Isolation Facility Undertaking


The Ghana Affiliation of Bankers (GAB), has contributed GH¢2million in the direction of the development of the Covid-19 Infectious Sickness and Isolation Facility at the Ga East Municipal Clinic.

The donation for the 100-mattress facility, was performed less than the auspices of the Ghana Covid-19 Private Sector Fund, the sponsor of the job.

President Nana Akufo-Addo delivered the keynote deal with at the digital groundbreaking ceremony for the challenge, approximated at $3.5 million.

A statement issued by GAB on Saturday reported it was dedicated to contributing its bid to mitigate the socio-financial effect of the respiratory illness.

Already, it mentioned, GAB experienced set up a GH¢10 million Covid-19 Response Fund, from which it had created contributions to aid some frontline bodies in the Covid-19 fight.

It has also negotiated with the Lender of Ghana, Ministry of Finance and member banking companies to set up a GH¢3 billion bank loan facility to support pharmaceutical corporations.

GAB has offered foods to a section of the head porters (Kayayei) in the Accra Metropolis.

It is supporting the ‘Feed the Kayayei Project’ with GH¢300,000 to offer 5,000 foods for 10 times to vulnerable teams.

It has also introduced some financial actions to assist its clients whose corporations have been afflicted by the international pandemic.

As part of these the Association agreed to a standard 200 basis details interest charge slash on all present nearby currency-denominated loans and for all new loans to be sanctioned by member banks.
