Governing administration has commended the media for its sizeable role in combating the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic causing havoc and financial hardship both equally in Ghana and throughout the world.
With around a few million people today influenced globally, Ghana has recorded 2,169 verified conditions with 17 deaths and 212 recoveries.
Describing the media as an ally in the combat, Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah mentioned, the reporting and publication of information on preventive etiquette are contributing positively to the combat by encouraging to prevent even further spread.
“The Akufo-Addo administration has been doing the job closely with the Media and other stakeholders in disseminating info and educating the community as element of the broader COVID-19 Governing administration response. The Media, as the President in 1 of this kind of engagements described, is an “invaluable ally” in the battle towards COVID-19,” he said in the press release.
The Minister also called for professionalism in the media house as the governing administration continues to collaborate with the push to set in put initiatives that will make the media extra effective.
Meanwhile, this year’s celebration is being marked globally under the theme “Journalism without Anxiety or Favour”.
