Government’s 2020 fiscal projections will have to be amended – Akufo-Addo

President Akufo-Addo claims government’s designs and policies for 2020 will have to be amended following its projections becoming ‘thrown out of the window’ by the Covid-19 pandemic.

At a push briefing Wednesday at the Jubilee Residence, he mentioned that, “it is critical that all people in the state appreciates that the governing administration is a single of the greatest if not the most difficult hit by this pandemic.

“We have substantial sections of revenues that have gone out of the window as a final result of this pandemic.”

He cited the reduction in the price of a barrel of crude oil which has fallen from $65 per barrel to $21 pounds per barrel now.

In accordance to him, such a drastic strike has impacted the country’s revenues, and as this sort of it was critical to restructure fiscal insurance policies for the yr to fill the “big hole” that has been made.

The Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta had previously projected that the anti-Covid-19 campaign is heading to value the state ¢9.505 billion, representing 2.5% of Ghana’s revised GDP.
