John Awuah appointed Deputy CEO of Ghana Affiliation of Bankers

The Ghana Association of Bankers (GAB) has appointed John Awuah as the Deputy Chief Government Officer.

Mr Awuah will choose more than from the current Chief Executive Officer, Mr D.K. Mensah when the latter retires later in the 12 months.

Prior to his appointment, Mr. Awuah was the Handling Associate of Jawuah & Co. Advisors Ltd, a management and monetary services consulting agency.
John has an MBA from the Oxford Institute of Worldwide Finance (Oxford Brookes University) and is a Fellow of the Affiliation of Chartered Accredited Accountants (British isles) and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana (ICAG).

He has previously worked with Universal Merchant Financial institution (UMB) as the Main Government Officer (CEO) of the Bank.

John has also held senior leadership positions as Finance Director at GCB Lender, Group Chief Finance Officer at Ecobank Capital, Economic Controller at Barclays Bank of Ghana (now ABSA Bank), Chief Finance Officer at UBA Ghana and as Finance Company Associate at Common Chartered Lender Ghana with business publicity from Tractor & Machines Ghana (now Mantrac) and Western Castings Restricted. He delivers to the Association a prosperity of business expertise and wide understanding of stakeholder administration and optimisation of social money.

In his function, John will guide all strategic initiatives of GAB and winner the Banking Industry’s reaction to world banking practices, research
possibilities, regulatory compliance, and rising trends in sustainable monetary providers and fiscal inclusion endeavours of Financial institutions in Ghana.
