Medical doctors at UGMC say they are ready to deliver toddlers safely throughout the coronavirus pandemic
Senior Professional Obstetrician/Gynaecologist at the College of Ghana Professional medical Centre (UGMC) has disclosed that the facility is properly geared up and ready to deliver toddlers securely regardless of whether the moms are cornonavirus favourable or detrimental.
“We have been anticipating offering toddlers for the duration of the pandemic due to the fact the illness does not choose. Men and women who are pregnant will arrive with it and people who are not pregnant will also come,” Dr Jacob K. D Amoatwo said on Pleasure FM’s Ultimate Wellbeing Exhibit, Sunday.
“Once we read that the condition is in Ghana, we started planning and UGMC was earmarked for procedure of Covid people, like expecting women,” he added.
The obstetrician also disclosed that some education has been finished for health care workers to get ready them to provide babies cautiously at UGMC.
“We took some schooling on major of our competencies and also since we’ve been undertaking this, we just wanted to incorporate the donning of the PPEs to do the standard positions we’ve been performing.
“We have the capacity to do that [deliver babies] due to the fact it is just an more precaution you have to just take.
“In actuality, an infection avoidance has often been with us. So you know how not to agreement the illness even though using care of somebody who is suffering from that disorder,” he reported.
