About 400 men and women have escaped from a coronavirus quarantine centre in Malawi’s 2nd largest city, Blantyre, following complaining about its inadequate state.
Neighborhood media has claimed that the escapees have been quarantined on arrival from South Africa and ended up nevertheless to be tested for coronavirus.
They had complained that the stadium, which was turned into a quarantine centre, lacked h2o, toilets and food.
A ministry of wellness spokesman has confirmed the escape of returnees and said that the authorities have mounted a manhunt.

The incident arrives a working day just after area media described that eight men and women who examined favourable for the virus on arrival from South Africa had escaped from Kameza isolation centre in Blantyre.
