Trainees under Newmont Ghana Ahafo’s Apprenticeship Coaching Programme have donated Individual Protective Tools (PPE) really worth GHS 12,000 to 4 overall health amenities in the Asutifi North and Tano North Districts of the Ahafo Location. The gesture is the group’s voluntary contribution to the Region’s battle versus the Covid-19 pandemic.
Beneficiary wellbeing amenities integrated Kenyasi, Gyedu, Yamfo and Techire – all inside the Ahafo mine’s host communities. Merchandise donated involved 4000 items of hand gloves, 1000 pieces of encounter masks, 80 bottles of hand sanitizers and four gallons of liquid cleaning soap.
Presenting the things, chief of the Apprentices, Franklin Boakye said “We see the battle versus covid-19 as a shared accountability so we made a decision to put our allowances alongside one another and assist these wellness amenities to make the battle from corona virus in our region profitable.”
The Asutifi North District Director of the Ghana Wellness Support, Dr. Foster Nyarko, who acquired the equipment on behalf of the 4 wellness centers, thanked the apprentices for the gesture. He revealed that so significantly, the district experienced despatched samples of six (6) suspected conditions of COVID-19 to the Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Analysis, (KCCR), but all arrived out negative. He urged the general public to notice all security protocols to prevent the unfold of the disease. The Ahafo Area has not recorded any COVID-19 scenario yet.
