Former Ghana defender Samuel Osei Kuffour has praised Stephen Appiah for demonstrating good leadership during his time as Black Stars captain.
In an interview with Pleasure FM on Pleasure Sports Website link Saturday, the Bayern Munich legend shared his knowledge of playing for the Black Stars beneath the leadership of Stephen Appiah, specifically at the 2006 Planet Cup.
Kuffour experienced much far more national crew encounter and was viewed as a senior participant compared to the skipper Appiah.
The 43-year-old stated he hardly ever felt disappointed enjoying with out the armband whilst he deserved it because of his status as a senior participant.
In accordance to Kuffour, whilst he was not the captain, the players showed him most respect, adding that Stephen Appiah never took any conclusion without consulting him.
“Stephen [Appiah] was the captain. When we experienced to the Planet Cup in 2006, he hardly ever did anything behind me. He showed me regard since I was there right before him and truthfully, I by no means thought of remaining a captain simply because it is just a band,” he said.
