Previous US Defence Secretary James Mattis has denounced President Donald Trump, accusing him of stoking division and abusing his authority.
In rare general public opinions, Mr Mattis mentioned the president experienced sought to “divide” the American people today and experienced unsuccessful to give “mature leadership”.
He mentioned he was “angry and appalled” by Mr Trump’s handling of new unrest.
In reaction, the president explained Mr Mattis as an “overrated general” and said he was happy he experienced still left the publish.
Mr Mattis resigned in 2018 after Mr Trump made a decision to withdraw US troops from Syria.

What did Mattis say?
