The National Lottery Authority (NLA) signed a partnership agreement with the Veterans Administration, Ghana (VAG).
The arrangement gave NLA the sole electric power to control, manage and supervise the functions of VAG lottery to lead to the total well-staying of Veterans in the State.
Primarily based on the collaborative agreement involving the NLA and Veterans Administration, Ghana, the Countrywide Lottery Authority has granted Licenses to the Lotto and Lotteries Business Minimal, Alpha Lotto Restricted, From Property Enterprise Constrained, Vision 2000 Company Limited and Rand Lotto less than Act 844
The licensing of the competent operators had been done below the approval of the Board of the Authority.
The operators would work the lottery under Act 844 regulated by the Authority in accordance with Act 722.
All the operators alongside one another with their agents, sub-brokers and ‘writers'(suppliers) shall use Point of Sale terminals to offer all lottery items as element of the phrases and conditions of their respective contracts.
Each individual operator shall receive a Safety Identification Embossment to affix on the respective Lotto kiosks of their agents, sub-brokers and ‘writers'(Vendors).
The Operators would function strictly in accordance with the phrases and disorders said in their contracts.
In accordance to the NLA, “henceforth, any lotto operator, agent, sub-agent and ‘Writer'(Retailer) who pays outrageous fee over the permitted Commission by the Authority would be dealt with in accordance with Act 722, L. I. 1948 and Segment 22 of Act 844.”
Authority reiterated that “it is unlawful below Act 722, L.I. 1948 and Part 22 of Act 844 to manufacture, distribute, offer or retail lottery merchandise and providers devoid of authorization from the Countrywide Lottery Authority (NLA).”
Accordingly, all these engaged in unlawful lottery operations would be arraigned ahead of Lotto Courts throughout the State inaugurated by the Chief Justice of Ghana.
The lotto courts aim at making certain the prosecution of lotto-associated offences, compliance, and enforcement of Act 722, L.I. 1948 and Part 22 of Act 844.
