Bawumia to launch Nationwide Digital Payment Platform to enrich government’s digitization agenda

The Vice President Alhaji Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia will on Monday 8th June 2020 launch a new single electronic payment platform which is predicted to improve governing administration digitization agenda.

Minister for Data Kojo Oppong Nkrumah who disclosed this in Accra on Friday reported the introduction of the solitary digital system dubbed Ghana.GOV is an addition to the Akufo-Addo administration’s digitization of the financial state.

Ghana.GOV will supply a solitary level of accessibility to all companies of ministries, departments and businesses of authorities. Mr. Nkrumah stated in highlighting the advantages of this new single payment system, Dr. Bawumia will also use the ceremony to spotlight the three primary gains of the payment platform.

The federal government has currently rolled out comparable digitization platforms which includes  Nationwide Electronic House Addressing System which provides Ghanaians with a distinctive long term electronic tackle connected to postcodes, the introduction of paperless port operations, the built-in e-immigration procedure, e-procurement, e-parliament, e-justice, e-cupboard and sensible workplaces between other initiatives, which are all at numerous levels of implementation and the development of an interoperability procedure to integrate govt databases.

The Minister stated “all these stand for substantial milestones by the Akufo-Addo administration in Ghana’s journey to digitization” 

He additional that it is the expectation of authorities that the introduction of the Ghana.GOV digital payment system will be used by all stakeholders for most gain.
