Customs intercept 42 kilos of suspected heroin, other substances at Aflao Border


The Customs Division of the Ghana Profits Authority (GRA) has intercepted about 42 kilograms of substances suspected to be cocaine, heroin and tramadol.

The drugs were being intercepted around 8 am on Sunday at the Kpoglo border, near Aflao during program operations by the joint officials of the Customs and Ghana Immigration Services.

However, the three suspects, considered to be Nigerians have absconded.

Speaking to Pleasure Small business, the Commissioner of Customs, Col. Kwadjo Damoah stated this sort of an operation is important particularly in these instances of the coronavirus pandemic.

“We will need these kinds of operations due to the fact even however the borders are closed, cargo is allowed to enter through the several borders so we have to be vigilant to make sure that the merchandise coming in are not smuggled goods” he observed.

The joint procedure involved guys from the National protection, Ghana Immigration Services and the Customs Division of the Ghana Profits Authority.

Amid some of the substances located includes, 225mg Tramadol tablets, three cans labelled “praise palm cream” but incorporate substances suspected to be heroin and some other 51 parcels wrapped in transparent polythene bag.

The items also involves a cash sum of $200,000, Nigerian passports and complimentary cards.
