Member of Parliament (MP) for New Juaben South, Dr Mark Assibey-Yeboah has alleged that there are strategies by some group of persons inside the constituency to change the constituency album ahead of the parliamentary primaries of the New Patriotic Social gathering (NPP) slated for June 20, 2020.
In a petition, the Chairman of Parliament’s Finance Committee argued that there is heightened rigidity in the constituency and requested the leadership of the get together to intervene.
Citing parts of the 2020 parliamentary nomination types which says “The photo album/register which was applied to elect the constituency government in February 2018 shall be the similar album which shall be made out there to the National Parliamentary Vetting Committee (NPVC) and the Electoral Fee of Ghana for the carry out of the parliamentary primaries,” the MP argued that that provision is staying violated.
Dr. Assibey-Yeboah is slugging it out with Chief Govt Officer of the Ghana Absolutely free Zones Board, Michael Okyere Baafi in NPP’s impending primaries ahead of the 2020 elections.
The petition dated June 12 was dealt with to the Standard Secretary of the NPP John Boadu and copied to the National Chairman Freddie Blay, Countrywide Election Committee (NEC), all members of NEC and the The greater part leader of the governing bash.
