The Ghana Soccer Association has rubbished publications that suggest that its Government Council has determined to abrogate the 2019/2020 football season.
Reviews by some media residences on Wednesday, April 17 stated that the selection to cancel the year was taken for the duration of a conference by the Council on Tuesday, June 16.
But the FA in a release explained the report as “fake, malicious, and meant to cause harm to the track record of the GFA”
Down below is the assertion from the FA
Our awareness has been drawn to a publication on ghanasoccernet.com with the headline ‘Ghana FA ExCo unanimously vote to terminate season’. The tale educated all stakeholders of the Ghana Football Affiliation (GFA) and the general public that the Executive Council took a final decision to cancel the 2019/20 soccer time at their meeting on Tuesday, June 16, 2020.
The GFA needs to place on document that the claimed publication on ghanasoccernet.com is bogus, destructive, and intended to lead to damage to the standing of the GFA. The publication is also calculated to deliberately induce confusion and disdain between the members of the Association, sponsors, gamers, club entrepreneurs and other stakeholders.
The GFA needs to point out categorically that no this sort of decision was taken by the Executive Council of the GFA and as this kind of the publication must be disregarded and treated with contempt by our stakeholders and the general public.
We are incredibly worried that nevertheless the Association has a good relationship with the media and ghanasoccernet.com, the website unsuccessful to crosscheck the tale with the Communications Section of the Association, thereby failing to comply with the ethics of journalism. Certainly, there is no prize for fake news in the Code of Ethics of the noble profession.
The Affiliation has in a great number of media publications stated and repeated Tuesday, June 30, 2020, as deadline for its last final decision on the year right after thinking about all factors such as but not limited to the result of the different consultations, conversations and engagements with all our stakeholders, this kind of as clubs, sponsors, and governing administration.
The GFA has also taken observe of other fake and damaging publications on the same site (ghanasoccernet.com), these kinds of as the one with the headline, Ghana FA to shed MTN FA Cup sponsorship if season is cancelled.
While we hasten to conclude that there is a deliberate agenda to wipe out the initiatives of the Association to #BringBackTheLove, the internet site leaves us with only a little doubt that it needs to damage the corporate graphic of the GFA, its members and our happy companions.
The GFA would continue on to open its doorways to all media networks, having said that, the Affiliation would not be reluctant to seek out legal redress to defend its corporate picture when the Affiliation is deliberately and/or recklessly maligned or injured by means of unverified reportage.
The GFA expects a retraction of the phony tale quickly and an apology to the Affiliation and all our stakeholders forthwith.
At the time once again, we wish to assure the public and all stakeholders that the Govt Council of the Association will consider a conclusion on June 30, 2020, following taking into consideration all components on the subject matter matter, a decision that would be in the greatest curiosity of Ghana Football.
