Authorities in New York state claimed a pair of off-responsibility law enforcement officers arrived to the rescue of a hawk they noticed trapped in the front bumper of a truck.

The Nassau County Police Office stated Marine Bureau Officers Schwaner and Leek had been on their way to function about 6:20 a.m. Wednesday when they spotted the hawk caught in the front bumper of a parked Dodge Ram pickup truck.

The officers stopped to look into and uncovered the fowl, a red-tailed hawk, was however alive, but unable to pull by itself free from the bumper.

The officers diligently extracted the raptor from the motor vehicle and took it to the Nassau County Law enforcement Marine Bureau base in Bay Park, the place they contacted the Volunteers for Wildlife rescue group in Locust Valley.

Volunteers transported the hen from the law enforcement station to the wildlife facility, where by it is staying dealt with for its injuries.
