Former Ghana defender John Paintsil has paid out tribute to the late E.K Afranie helping him know his football desire.
John Paintsil was a member of the Ghana U-20 team that concluded runners up at the Globe Cup in 2001.
The crew handled by E.K Afranie dazzled at the levels of competition, but missing the remaining to Argentina in Rosario.
Afranie modified John Paintsiil’s situation from a striker to a defender, a determination that transformed the career of the then 18-12 months outdated.
“Coach E.K Afranie gave me the possibility to realise my football career,” Painstil told Light-weight FM. “He changed my place and that was my breakthrough,” he added.
“I am endlessly grateful to him, the motor vehicle that I purchased for him is additional than the chance he gave me. May well his soul rest in peace.”
E.K Afranie died on November 9, 2016.
Paintsil has now hanged his boots following a profitable soccer profession which saw him symbolize Ghana at multiple Nations Cup and two FIFA Planet Cups.
He performed 89 periods for the Black Stars of Ghana, and was a member of the crew at the FIFA Environment Cups in 2006 and 2010.
He also performed for the West Ham, Fulham and Leicester in England in a glittering soccer job.
