The Rebecca Foundation in collaboration with the Nationwide Board for Tiny Scale Industries (NBSSI) and MasterCard Foundation has released ‘Young Africa Works’ Challenge.

This aims to increase prospects for the youth by building fulfilling and dignified jobs.

The initiative which kick started off on Wednesday will over a a few-year period of time, create 39,000 employment, 70 per cent of which will be women.

Its targets are graduate youth, out of faculty youth, university dropouts, and ladies-owned led micro, smaller and medium enterprises.

“This partnership and funding is to help women and the youth and about 80 to 90 per cent of it will go into funding and supporting the programme.

“Many a time, most programmes just assist the administrative functions, but in this scenario, there is an intentional goal to ensure that all the money will go into supporting and serving to the youth of this state to do much better,” she reported.

Speaking to JoyNews a beneficiary of the venture, Benedicta Nuwani mentioned having concerned in the task has enabled her to fulfil her goals.
