Akufo-Addo nominates 3 chief executives for confirmation by their Assemblies

President Akufo-Addo has nominated a few Main Executives for affirmation by their respective community assemblies.

They are: Abdul Mumim Issah for the Sekondi- Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly in the Western Area, Barima Awuah Sarpong Asiedu, Akwapim North Municipal Assembly in the Jap Region and Clement Opoku Gyamfi, Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region.

If verified, they would replace Anthony K. K. Sam, Sekondi Takoradi MCE, who handed on in June 2020, Mr Dennis Edward Aboagye, MCE, Akwapim North and Mr William Asante Bediako, DCE, Amansie South, respectively.

A statement signed by the Minister of Community Government and Rural Advancement, Hajia Alima Mahama, explained the nomination is in accordance with short article 243(1) of the 1992 Constitution and area 20(1) of the Regional Governance Act, Act 936.

The Minister, as a result, urged the respective Regional ministers to liaise with the Regional Electoral Fee to conduct the affirmation process of the nominated Main Executives.

The nominees want two-thirds of the votes solid by the customers to be confirmed.
