Beginning with the 2020/2021 season, juvenile clubs in the state will no for a longer period pay back officiating fees, Kurt Okraku, the President of the Ghana Football Association has announced.
Talking at the launch of a new programme aimed at schooling youthful referees, Kurt Okraku disclosed that the FA has selected to foot the price of refereeing in the least expensive tier of Ghana football.
Okraku stated that FA has recognized the struggles of the clubs and have decided to stage in to alleviate them of the stress.
Kurt is hopeful by the time, the new period kicks off, the GFA’s new product would be exhibiting outcomes so that some of the new referees will officiate juvenile matches.
He instructed the Regional Football Associations to keep track of the development of all people who will sign up for the programme.
“These youngsters will officiate in juvenile games throughout the size and breadth of this country. When the juvenile year commences, we should really have juveniles being in the center and on the lines of all juvenile games in this country. We expect that referees committee operating less than the RFAs will hold a databases of all the referees”.
“From the upcoming juvenile year, juvenile club house owners will not be paying officiating charges any longer. This policy will provide as a essential grooming and preparatory interval for kids to be prepared for the elite stage of refereeing in Ghana”, he claimed.
The ‘Catch Them Younger Refereeing’ coverage is aimed at pinpointing and nurturing referees at the young age.
The programme is opened to both male and female from the ages of 13 to sixteen.
