Be daring and report gender-associated violence – AMA urges teenage ladies


Social Welfare and Local community Progress Director at the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA), Lawyer Marian Mensah has urged ladies in the metropolis to be daring and report any form of gender-linked violence to her department or the Law enforcement for required motion to be taken.

Attorney Marian Mensah claimed this on Monday at a Mentorship programme organised by the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Security (MoGCSP) with help from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the Canadian Government, to empower Adolescent Ladies on Sexual Reproductive Health Suitable (SRHR) and Sexual/Gender- Based Violence (SGBV). 

“We are bringing social work to your doorsteps we will escort you to the police station to report any act of violence from anyone and this is to help retain evidence so do not wait to report. You can also report any lady who attempts to sexually harass you, ” she told the women. 

She assured that her division would endeavour to proceed to keep an eye on each little one under the age of 18 and to interact them so they do not come to be promiscuous but dependable and advantageous to modern society.
