Agyapa offer: Let us be ethnically tolerant – Franklin Cudjoe slams Mahama for his ‘Akyem Mafia’ tag [ARTICLE]

He stated Mahama referring to an ethnic group as Sakawa is not the best specially at a time that the country is full of political pressure.

Mahama on his Facebook timeline shared a submit by the Member of Parliament for Bolga Central, Isaac Adongo, who explained the Agyapa deal, a Mineral Royalty Minimal settlement with the government of Ghana which dominated the media landscape is a “massive fraud on Ghana” by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the Akyem Mafia.

The MP reported the controversial offer is a transfer by the President and some group of appointees in his govt he refers to as Akyem Mafias to defraud the point out and accused the President and his kith of forming a people-and-close friends cartel to capture the mineral means of the state by way of the deal.

Franklin Cudjoe in a Facebook article reported Mahama went way too significantly to be ethnocentric.

He said “We all joke from time to time with tribal memes. But some are extremely expensive. Describing an ethnic group as “sakawa” is not cool in this tensed political instant.”

“JM went also much. But I will not assume Umaru anxieties when I call him ‘ ‘Fulani Chinese’ or greater when I am named ‘lolobi terminator’. Allow us be ethnically tolerant,” he included.

Meanwhile, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has subtly jabbed flagbearer of the Countrywide Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, for his description of the Agyapa deal as an ‘Akyem Mafia.

The President at a conference with the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Meeting at the Jubilee Household on Friday, August 4, 2020, claimed determined teams and Ghanaians must condemn the feedback.

He claimed he was ‘very disturbed’ by the ethnocentric tagging his ethnic group but also explained, ‘that is the sort of language we never want in our politics.

“The reviews designed by my opponent [John Mahama] ‘Ayem Sakawa’ folks I have not heard any public determine in this state comment on it. it is fully unacceptable. If I wake up to make these types of a comment about Northerners or Gonjas you can picture the uproar that will be in the nation. A former President of Ghana you can simply call a team of Ghanaians ‘Sakawa’ people and it requires the team of a sitting President,” he additional.

He mentioned: “His statement has been passed without the need of feedback from teams. At the very same time, we have been advised to bring the politics of insults to an stop. We have to have to focus on this subject in an even-handed way.”
