President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has announced that domestic competitive soccer will resume on Friday, Oct 30.
In his 17th televised broadcast to the nation, the president reported, this is following because of consultations with the Ghana Football Affiliation (GFA).
“With regard to soccer, soon after because of consultations with the Ghana Football Affiliation, it has been resolved that the Ghana Premier League and the Division One Soccer League will restart on Friday, 30th Oct, 2020 with a total routine of testing of the players, specialized and administration employees,” President Akufo-Addo said.
He continued: “No spectators will be authorized at the coaching centres, and, when genuine competitors resumes, seating at all stadia will be minimal to 20-five per cent (25%) capability to assure social distancing.”
Akufo-Addo stated even further that, wearing of masks by spectators at stadia will be obligatory.
“The restart of all other sporting competitions will be identified on a situation-by-situation basis, pending consultations concerning the Ministry of Youth and Sports activities and the respective sport associations,” he extra.
