Congress approves Ghana Olympic Committee election in March

The Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) has authorized March 2021 for its Elective Congress.

This was accepted at its Yearly Typical Meeting held on Tuesday, December 22, at the Theodosia Okoh Hockey Pitch, in Accra.

It would be observed the present Government Council of the GOC have experienced their expression expire but owing to the issues of COVID 19 pandemic, they experienced to reschedule the elections.

At the AGM, there was a movement on whether or not the GOC elections need to be held in March or be postponed to immediately after the Tokyo Olympic Games preset for July-August following calendar year.

Out of the 51 users existing, 28 voted for the election to be held in March whiles the 23 voted against.

This implies that, the incumbent President, Mr. Ben Nuuno-Mensah would not lead Ghana’s contingent to the biggest multi-sports activities function right up until he wins the Elections in March.

The mission of the Ghana Olympic Committee is to create and defend the Olympic Motion in Ghana, and to market the beliefs of the Commonwealth Games in accordance with the Olympic Charter and the Structure of the CGF.
