Election petition: Rojo Mettle Nunoo documents witness statement to be cross-examined [ARTICLE]


He is envisioned to mount the witness box to be cross-examined and account on what happened at the EC’s strongroom.

Earlier, a single of the witness who mounted the witness to testify on behalf of the petitioner, Dr. Michael Kpessa-Whyte said Jean Mensa, the Chairperson of the 1st Respondent, EC, asked him [Kpessa-Whyte] and Rojo Mettle-Nunoo to go and seek advice from the petitioner prior to the declaration of the December 7, 2020, elections.

Justin Amenuvor, guide counsel for the 1st Respondent in his cross-evaluation sought to establish that Kpessa-Whyte and Rojo Mettle Nunoo were being under no circumstances instructed by Jean Mensa to depart the EC strongroom but relatively still left on their individual volition.

From the witness, he verified that Dr. Kpessa-Whyte did not individually listen to from the EC Chairperson but received the facts from Rojo Mettle Nunoo who rather spoke with the Chairperson of the EC.

Dr. Kpessa-Whyte included in his testimony that they left their laptops in the EC sturdy place and moved in one vehicle to John Mahama’s residence only to return immediately after 40 minutes to meet up with the strongroom deserted with the election benefits already declared.

“On the basis of this, when we ended up leaving the location, we left our laptops. We still left in only a single automobile. I left my car or truck in the premises of the Electoral Fee. Why would we leave our laptops and our doing the job applications in the position if we were in fact not instructed to go? Certainly, we returned to the position in about 45 minutes to one particular hour only to [see] the robust place totally deserted and all the things packed out,” Dr. Kpessa-Whyte added.
