Famous Ghanaian musician, Okyeame Kwame has provided a staggering revelation of how Jay Z’s track ‘Dirt off Your Shoulders’ encouraged his 2008 strike song, ‘Woso’.
Okyeame Kwame, in an job interview with YFM’s Kojo Manuel on the Y Disco Diaries shared that his hit tune arrived at a issue when he pretty much gave up on undertaking new music.
“At that time I experienced finished much more than 200 options and I was making ready an album but I was not blowing like I needed to. So I advised my spouse then my girlfriend that I was quitting tunes and she instructed me if I give up then she will also have to quit our relationship. Speaking on how Jay Z’s tune turned the most important inspiration of his song, he furthered: “the main inspiration came from Jay Z’s ‘Rub your shoulders off’. That is why you will usually see me brush my shoulders on stage. I was enjoying that beat in the automobile and I try to remember I started producing it [the song] on a pretty compact pad”.
Okyeame Kwame adds that the ‘Woso’ track was also a way to help save his connection with his girlfriend at that time. “I wrote this tune to demonstrate to my then-girlfriend that I am able of accomplishing just about anything. Okyeame Kwame’s ‘Woso’ won the Hip Hop Track of the 12 months in the 2009 version of the Vodafone Ghana Songs Awards (VGMA). The artiste was also crowned Artiste of the 12 months 2009.
