Ghana could split AFCON title jinx beneath Okraku’s tenure- George Afriyie

Previous Vice President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), George Afriyie has stated the Black Stars could stop their AFCON title drought less than Kurt Okraku’s tenure.

Ghana has flirted with results on the again of sturdy performances at the previous five African Nations Cup tournaments but has failed to get the trophy considering that 1982.

The team booked a ticket to the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations Cup match after amassing thirteen (13) points from 6 (6) qualifying online games.

In spite of topping Team C which consisted of Sudan, South Africa, and São Tomé and Principe, there is a growing problem that the effectiveness exhibited by Charles Akonnor and his expenses do not benefit the tag ‘pre-tournament favourites’.

But in accordance to George Afriyie, the Black Stars could change their luck by returning from Cameroon with the coveted trophy.

“We have not been in a position to win the Afcon from 2008. I will attribute it to sheer luck. In 2010 and 2015 it was just not for us in that period,” Afriyie stated on Nhyira FM.
