CAF strongly condemns assault on referees in Ghana Division 1 League match

The Confederation of African Soccer (CAF) has condemned the assault on referees in the Ghana Division Just one league match previous weekend.

Fans attacked and defeat match officers who dealt with the match involving Wamanafo Mighty Royals and Bofoakwa Tano FC at the Wamanafo City Park in Zone 1.

CAF Normal Secretary Veron Mosengo-Omba strongly condemned the assault on officials in that match and called for a comprehensive investigation into the issue.

“The graphic and integrity of football in Africa are pretty essential. Part of this is because of to the full regard for match officials and the function they perform in our football. It is essential that match officials experience totally secured and are free of charge to use the FIFA Laws of the Recreation with out concern or prejudice. Experiences from Ghana exactly where a match official was assaulted are fully unacceptable. This behavior has no place in our football and are not able to be tolerated. CAF needs the match officials a fast recovery,” stated Mosengo-Omba.

The Ghana Soccer Association has given that banned the Wamanafo City Park following the incident.

CAF claims they will liaise with the Ghana FA to get a complete report on what occurred.

CAF treats this challenge with the seriousness and urgency it deserves.

In addition, CAF appealed to all Member Associations to make certain that CAF protection and safety rules are absolutely used in all matches.
