Choreographer Liam Scarlett has died at the age of 35, a year soon after leaving The Royal Ballet about allegations of inappropriate conduct.
A statement from his family members explained: “It is with terrific unhappiness that we announce the tragic, premature demise of our beloved Liam.
“At this tricky time for all of our household, we would ask that you respect our privateness to allow us to grieve our reduction.”
Scarlett’s placement with The Royal Ballet finished very last year, when the Royal Opera Dwelling, which is house to the Royal Ballet Company, explained that an independent investigation experienced concluded.
The artist-in-home was investigated more than claims of sexual misconduct involving college students but the investigation concluded there “were no issues to pursue in relation to alleged make contact with with learners of The Royal Ballet School”.
Scarlett joined the Royal Ballet Organization in 2006 and retired from dancing in 2012 to concentrate on choreography.
