A 28-12 months-aged driver who defiled a 15-year-aged woman and got her expecting at Afari in the Atwima-Nwabiagya South Municipality has been remanded into law enforcement custody by the Nkawie circuit court.
The plea of Akwasi Nkrumah was not taken and would reappear in advance of the court docket presided by Mr Michael Johnson Abbey, on Might 19, this 12 months.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sylvanus Dalmeida instructed the courtroom that the complainant was the father of the sufferer, who is a junior higher faculty pupil.
He reported in December previous year the suspect met the sufferer in town and lured her into his area and had sexual intercourse with her.
DSP Dalmeida reported the suspect gave the victim GHC10.00 and warned her not to inform any one else she would die.
The sufferer therefore held her ordeal to herself till March this calendar year when her father detected that she was pregnant.
According to the Prosecution, the father sent the sufferer to a medical center and it was verified that she was four month outdated pregnant and upon interrogation, she talked about the name of the suspect.
A report was made to the Nkawie police who arrested him and in his caution statement, he admitted the offence.
DSP Dalmeida said the police were continuing with their investigations.
