The Board of the Ghana Rugby Soccer Union (GRFU), has suspended its President and Main Govt Officer (CEO) Herbert Mensah, indefinitely.

The Board arrived at the final decision to suspend the former CEO of Asante Kotoko immediately after a assembly on Tuesday, and named Vice President, James Nunoo as performing President.

In a assertion accessible to JoySports, the Board explained the final decision as “unfortunate and unenviable task”.

They will convene a Distinctive Normal Assembly on June 8 and take out him from business, JoySports resources mentioned.

On April 23, JoySports claimed a nine-issue petition submitted before the board enumerating a myriad of allegations ranging from unilateralism, conflict of curiosity and bodily abuse and demanded that they pressure Mr Mensah to phase down as leader of the Union within 72 hrs.

The allegations were being echoed by the Larger Accra and Western  Rugby Unions in different letters to the board on April 29 and 30 respectively.

Herbert Mensah was asked to react to the allegations, but resources say, he never replied to the Board’s requests leading to their selection to suspend him indefinitely.

Performing President, James Nunoo said  “Rugby is our adore and enthusiasm and Rugby ought to arise as the winner from this unfortunate moment in the record of Ghana Rugby,” when he was asked to stand-in.

“Ghana Rugby has reached memorably less than the management of Mr Mensah and a solid platform has been laid to create on that basis for that we thank him,” he noted.
