Richie Mensah Reacts To Kuami Eugene’s Law Suit – Warns The Media To Stop Spreading Nonsense


CEO of Lynx Entertainment, Richie Mensah, has reacted to a lawsuit filed against Kuami Eugene by a Nigerian singer.

A Nigerian singer, Ottomi Patrick Akhere aka Oduma Essan, claims that Eugene stole the concept and elements of his single ‘Show Body’ released in July 2020.

About a month after he released his song, Kuami Eugene also released a single and later music video titled ‘Show Body’.

Oduma Essan, in his suit, demanged Kuami Eugene and his label pay him Ghc 120,000 in damages for costs including video production, sound engineering, mixing, and promotion of the song in both Ghana and Nigeria.

Reacting to this news, Richie Mensah blamed Ghanaian media for painting Kuami Eugene as a lazy artist that specialises in song Theft and plagiarism.

He warned bloggers, TV and Radio stations to stop tarnishing the brand of the young singer adding that it is their fault someone is suing Kuami Eugene.

Touching on the suit, he said the Nigerian singer has no grounds to sue them because Kuami Eugene released their song before they did.

He threw jabs at the media saying if they had done their research, they would have known Kuami Eugene released the track list for his album log before the Nigerian singer recorded his song.

In conclusion, Richie said that even if Kuami Eugene was sued, it is none of anyone’s business and the media should stop spreading false news and nonsense.

He made these comments in an interview with Joy News presenter Doreen Avio.
