GPL Week 21 Wrap: Dreams put five past Olympics; Aduana held in Tamale

Dreams Football Club recorded the biggest win over the weekend in the Ghana Premier League matchday 21 following the annihilation of Great Olympics at the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu.

The Believers dealt a blow to the Wonder Club’s hopes of chasing Asante Kotoko for the top spot in the top-flight.

In Tamale, Real Tamale United’s winless run continued on Sunday as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Aduana Stars.

Baba Kushibo’s 31syt minute strike was cancelled out by Eric Kwakwa in the second half, extending the frustration of the home team.

Bibiani Gold Stars grabbed a deserving victory over Elmina Sharks at the Dun’s Park. Godfred Kyei scored the only goal of the game to give Michael Osei’s side all three points.

Emmanuel Annor was also on the scoresheet at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park as Bechem United snatched a narrow 1-0 win over Accra Lions.

Hans Kwofie and Abdul Nassiru also ensured a 2-1 victory for Legon Cities against struggling WAFA at the El Wak Stadium while Karela United and Medeam played out a 1-1 stalemate at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park on Saturday.

In Sunday’s late kick-off, Hearts of Oak worked the hard way as they beat AshantiGold with a 2-1 scoreline at the Accra Sports Stadium. Daniel Afriyie Barnieh scored both goals for the home team.

League leaders, Asante Kotoko will be in action on Monday, where they take on Eleven Wonders away from home, looking to extend their lead at the top of the league table.
