Ghana condemns military services takeover in Mali


Ghana has extra her voice to the condemnation of a army mutiny which led to the arrest and subsequent resignation of the President of Mali, Ibrahim Boubacar Keita and the dissolution of his federal government and nationwide assembly.

Talking on behalf of the President all through an Incredible Summit of ECOWAS Heads of Condition and Government on Thursday, Foreign Affairs Minister reiterated Ghana’s solidarity with the sanctions imposed by the ECOWAS Commission and the African Union.

Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey also sided with the positions expressed by the United Nations Safety Council as very well as other International Corporations in rejecting the unconstitutional modify of government in Mali.

She more said “Government provides its voice to the phone calls for the speedy release of President Keita and senior officials of his govt.

“We also guidance the proposal for the speedy dispatch of an ECOWAS delegation to Mali to make sure the return to normalcy, peace and purchase as well as Constitutional rule,” the Minister reiterated.

Madam Ayorkor Botchwey, expressed appreciation to the Chairman of ECOWAS Authority, Mahamadou Issoufou for urgently convening the incredible summit on the progress.
